GOOD NEWS FOR ALL OWNERS OF DWIGHT CAVENDISH CM250 AND CM250-5
SYSTEMS - YOUR SYSTEM CAN BE UPGRADED
The biggest selling Dwight Cavendish systems of all time,
the CM250 and CM250-5 are now easily upgradeable to the current
CM2500 system.
Two upgrade paths are available
Add new interfaces to the
existing system
Change out the head end controller only
If your existing CM250 or CM250-5 control panel is working
well and all you want to do is expand your system with new
interfaces, you need the VS-609-28. This is a 37 pin to 9
pin converter unit.
Features of the new interface
Programmable
machine control type, JVC, Panasonic or Sony serial (S or
P) or virtually any infrared consumer VCR. Parallel
requires a serial to parallel adapter.
QC
video and audio switching for 10 VCRs
10
extra RCA connectors for relay eject for consumer VCRs without
eject in the infrared stream or for switching of HI-FI /
linear monitoring of pro VCRs
Procedure for adding new interfaces
Install
the converter after the last VS-609 type interface
Add
new interfaces, VS-628-24 after the converter
Add
a VP-702-04 to the new group
See components
price list for current pricing of all of the above
See
the interface manual for design rules, VS-609-28
If you want to change out your CM50, CM250 or CM250-5 control
panel and you still need to keep the VS-609 interfaces in
place then you need the VS-628-37 9 pin to 37 pin converter.
Features of the CM2500 control system
Modular
head end and interface allows customization
10
group with VS-628-03, 20 group optional with VS-628-05
Optional
auto control with VS-900-01
Procedure for adding new control system
Replace
the old controller with the VS-628-01/02/03
combination
Connect
the VS-609 interfaces to this converter
Add
new interfaces if required directly to the VS-628-01
This
installation normally requires a new audio monitor and router,
VS-628-09 and VP-748-00 or VP-738-00. Add a VP-710 or VP-716
for audio control.
